Our Fits

STOP TUBULAR PRODUCTION

Our bodies aren't tubes, so why does tubular manufacturing still exist? Constructing garments this way is cheaper, but tubular T-Shirts are ill-fitting and unflattering. Side-Seamed tees are the only tees we make because to us, fit is everything.

TECHNICAL FIT

We go to unheard of lengths to perfect the fit of every garment in every size. Rather than doing generic size grading, we cross-reference every body type, every height, and every weight to ensure our fit reaches the largest audience possible - and at the same time, never once do we ignore the nature of tailoring or contouring.

A WORD ABOUT OUR FITS

Classic Fit  --  Fits like a well loved favorite. Technical fitting maintains shape and proper proportions for all sizes. Roomier fit through the arms and stomach area, while still maintaining a modern silhouette.

Vintage Fit  --  A more modern, form fitting style of tshirt made from a tri-blend fabric. Sleeves are shorter and more snug to the arms to show off a more athletic build. Not tight, but more slim fit than the Classic.

Performance Fit  --  Made of moisture wicking and/or UPF protective materials. Designed for an active lifestyle to handle any conditions.

DIFFERENCE MAKERS FOR A BETTER FITTING AND WEARING SHIRT

Sideseamed  --  Seams present that join the front and back together. If a shirt does not have side seams, it is tubular.

Singles  --  A term used to indicate the diameter of a yarn. The smaller the number, the thicker the yarn.
Shoulder Taping  --  Shoulder seams, as well as neck seam are covered by tape or binding. This reinforces shoulder and neck seams, and reduces separation of the seams.
Ring Spun  --  Yarn made by continuously twisting and thinning a rope of cotton fibers. The twisting makes the short hairs of cotton stand out, resulting in a stronger yarn with a significantly softer hand.

Combed Cotton  --  A process by which the short fibers of a yarn are removed and the remaining longer fibers are arranged in parallel order for a high quality yarn with excellent strength, fineness and uniformity.

AIRLUME COMBED & RING-SPUN COTTON. NO C.O.E.

We have been preaching the combed and ring spun message since day one, back when all the other guys were using carded open end. We have been true to our core belief that quality garments start at the thread level, which is exactly where we start our design process. Our signature Airlume Combed and Ring-Spun Cotton is engineered to create the softest, smoothest tee you’ve ever felt.

THE AIRLUME DIFFERENCE?

  • Clean Cotton: We comb out 2.5x more impurities than standard ring spun cotton
  • Long Staple Cotton: This makes for less stray fibers and a tight-knit print surface
  • Eco-Dyed: Our fabric is dyed using 7x less water and eco-friendly dyes

WATER REDUCTION

By using newer, more efficient dye machines, we use 7x less water than the average for clothing manufacturers, saving 24 million gallons a week. Any water we do use goes through a filtration system that allows it to be recycled.

ENERGY REDUCTION

We are a green company through and through - taking every opportunity we can to reduce our co2 emissions. If you take a quick tour around our headquarters you'll find we use solar energy to power our sewing and cutting facilities, motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights throughout each building, and electric car charging stations to encourage employees to go green.

VIRTUALLY ZERO WASTE

Our manufacturing facilities and LA Headquarters produce almost no landfill because we recycle pretty much everything that can't be turned into a tee. We've optimized our cutting to reduce plastic use, and excess fabric is recycled into a number of things like baby bibs or stuffing for upholstery. Let nothing go to waste!

NO SWEATSHOPS/PLATINUM WRAP CERTIFICATION

Doing things the right way has never been up for debate. We have been manufacturing in the U.S. and internationally in a no-sweat-shop, humane, sustainable way since day one. Our Platinum W.R.A.P. certification is just a small indication of how hard we work to make our sewing and cutting floors pleasant, productive, comfortable places to be.

What Principles Does the WRAP Certification Include?

  • Human resources management
  • Health and safety standards
  • Environmental and eco-friendly practices
  • Legal compliance including import/export, customs compliance and security standards
